This is what I got with a Google search of "Sony cell processor"...

I haven't read through this yet, but it looks like the guy spent a good deal of time trying to understand the patents filed and trying to tie that to info released to the press.

Thanks, IBM.According to IBM, today's microchips were created with word processors and spreadsheets in mind and therefore struggle to cope with tasks such as downloading music and displaying video. The Cell chip has been designed to address this shortcoming.

Yes, my CPU is certainly the limiting factor in music download rates. Clearly AMD's inadequacy is the only reason I don't get the theoretical 3 Mbps my cable company claims they provide.
