DVD drive

Post by Jonathan »

I think I want to join the 21st century. Anything I should know about DVD drives before I get one?

  • They're ~$20, don't spend too much time thinking about which to get.
  • I recommend Lite-On (manufacturer)
  • Burners are pretty much the same price as read-only drives. Get a burner.
  • Newegg Lite-on Burners sorted by best rating link
  • Newegg Lite-on Read-only'ers sorted by best rating link
Enjoy,

Buy one of each!

I have a Samsung that's a little quieter than my Lite-on, but basically I bought based on it being the cheapest reputable SATA drive available at the time.
I feel like I just beat a kitten to death... with a bag of puppies.
