electric razors

Post by bob »

Why must new electric razor blades cost 30 bucks? That's absurd. 10 Dollars per little spinny thing? Whatever. Since I'm cheap and don't want to invest that much in shaving, because I don't care much about shaving, I'm currently cleaning out the razor heads. Have you ever taken apart circular electric razor heads? It's pretty neat. Nasty with the face cheese, but neat nonetheless.

Does anybody happen to know how to resharpen these kinds of blades, or whether it works? I do not own a super tiny whetstone, but I could probably locate an emory board somewhere for about fitty cent.

damn electric razor. i bought the self-cleaning one. i knocked over the cleaning unit and now it won't stay in the cleaning position. I have to balance Asimov's New Guide to Science on top of it just to make it clean.

After cleaning (scraping crap off of) my razor heads thoroughly with a knife, and rinsing with water, I tried out shaving with it. Wow. It is so much better. Norelco says to replace the blades every year, but I've had these for close to three, and they're doing fine now.

This is good, because I don't own Asimov's New Guide to Science.

you should rinse the blades frequently, like every week.

i find the quality of shave doesn't go down very fast as the blades wear, but the comfort does.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

I've switched to a real razor. The electric just doesn't do nearly as good a job.
