Fortunately for you, there's a new build coming out. I'm guessing by the time of 1.0 (not PR) this won't be an issue. There's already apparently been a good deal of memory leak fixing over the summer.

Also, changing the cache limit trades off between increased memory usage and increased disk usage.
I have not personally experienced any memory hogging.
