You really might want to consider getting out of the way of this storm and riding out one that's a bit smaller. Just a thought.Dave wrote:oh noes! help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
no one is getting *any* work done today at work, everyone is trying to locate stuff to protect their house (wood, tape, etc) or figurouing how to get out of here. I am probably going to stay put since I've never been through one before.

wussFrances is still a dangerous hurricane but has (at least for the time being) weakened from the 145-mph Category 4 storm that it was on Thursday to a 105-mph Category 2 storm. Still, Frances continues to develop powerful convection (thunderstorms) around parts of its central core as it tries to rev up. There still is the distinct possibility that the hurricane could strengthen again.

yeah, I'm a wuss because I don't like things flung at me at like 105+ mph and REALLY don't like things flung at me at 145+ mph. At those speeds, a random aluminum sign could be blown fast enough to slice through the wall of your house and you while it's at it.

hehe, I went to a friend's house w/ hurricaine shutters, etc and putz around for a while playing cards/watching tv,. then heard that the hurricaine slowed to 4mi/hr and wont even get here until sat night so i went back to my apt lol
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
I've heard a hurricane can drive a straw through a telephone pole. Or maybe that's a tornado. Dave, test this out for us. Go outside during the peak of the storm with a straw.quantus wrote:yeah, I'm a wuss because I don't like things flung at me at like 105+ mph and REALLY don't like things flung at me at 145+ mph.
