3-2 in medal qualifying, and 1-1 in single elimination, playing for 3-4th place now.

This leads me to an important question.

Is every American Olympic basketball team made of professionals the Dream Team? Obviously, it's a silly moniker now. Or was there just one Dream Team? Or, maybe, do people like to call the good teams Dream and the ignore the bad ones? Is there a rule?

I don't think the current team is a dream team. It was meant to describe a team of superstars that would normally cost so much to put together that people could only dream of all those players being on the same team. Many of the current players hardly qualify as superstars and therefore, there's no one dreaming of them being all on the same team.

I think it depends on what the olympic committe for each individual event allows. in 92 they allowed for anyone being "paid" to play bball to participate in the olympics whereas before it was all ameteurs. They each have their weird rules. I think the soccer teams are allowed to have 3 people over the age of 23 participate, or that might be baseball

Yeah, FIFA doesn't want the Olympics to overshadow the World Cup, so they don't let more than 3 players over 23 for each team.
