Adderall

Post by Alan »

Just out of curiosity, did anyone know anyone at CMU who took Adderall but didn't have ADD?

why does this question sound like it's from more than curiosity? If I didn't know you, that'd be the kind of question that screams, "I'm taking this drug and I want to know someone else like me" or "I think I need this drug to help me, but want to find out if it'll fuck me up first".

Since you're applying to med school and all, it's probably a legit question from something you've read. Care to comment on what you read?

Yeah I was watching a show on TV about people taking Adderall at college/high-school, and the way they were talking about it was as if everyone and their mother was on Adderall. Like it grew on trees and or something.

Also I frequent a medical school type forum and quite a few people there are on Adderall for their classes and/or the MCAT. People always get into big flame wars about whether or not it's unethical; one side will equate it with academic steroids and the other says, "Well if you're not willing to do everything you can to succeed you have nobody to blame but yourselves when you fail." Pretty dumb argument so I never get involved.

It seems like this is a much bigger issue at the big public schools than somewhere like CMU which is why I was curious whether there was an "Adderall scene" there.

maybe in the more competative departments/schools like berkeley where you can get "cut" from your major.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
