I recently purchased a packet of tiny magnets as a cubicle toy. Watching them snap together in lines makes me wonder if there Rubik's cube-type toys which use, like, magnetism and fishing line. Any idea?
In the 80's my father had this foldable puzzle toy involving some fiendishly clever arrangement of fishing line. The idea was you had to fold the things around until you made the pattern printed on the little triangles join together to form rings. It was a Rubik's Cube puzzle mapped onto a different space, in other words.

Um, yes, it was an uncommon but not entirely rare toy to my knowledge. I've seen one or two of them (thin, plastic, regular shapes (squares and/or triangles) connected by wires, which can be manipulated to form one complete image (sometimes on both sides).
