so we over at Mary3 are all installing now(holy cow this game takes forever to patch), should we use the same world pass as posted or go for continuaed random generation until we get on cait sith?

You can use my world pass charge. I won't buy the game until Saturday at the earliest.

hey guys, some of you may know me but i'm rotinoma/omoikane/jeff/cmu 2001 grad.

in any case i'm going to hook up 2 friends with the code. i won't be able to get the game until later this week or next week, but if you bother them they'll help contribute to pass funds or whatever.

one charge is used up: you can bug pyocola but i don't think he knows any of you. blame it on vinny if you have any issues

Ditto for me (unfortunately). I have ~16 hours of work to do by Sunday, but with luck I can finish by midday Saturday.

Today I gave a CMU interviewee a glimpse of Argon and Fairfax, who's now flying back to enjoy 18-741 (adv. comp. arch.) work.

Tomorrow I have to deal with friggin' UPS to send my exercise bike back (damanged, they're sending me a new one). This is after multiple phone calls and waiting for them when they didn't come -_-.

I hope I can make it by Saturday...

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I think money is quite hard to come by in this game, at least at this early stage. So it would be nice that once the code is used up, another code be bought for the remaining people to join after they buy the game. Gils just disappear so easily for some reason...

Can somebody explains handles to me? If you can't use a handle as an alias for the character, what use is it?

Handles are for the Playonline viewer, which serves as like a messaging program and frontend.

You register your character with a handle. Or something. It's all very confusing heh.

I think your handle is for the Playstation Online Network (ie. will be more than just FFXI in the future), whereas your character name is only for FFXI.

It's the POL login ID, which is separate from the handle. Like I said, confusing.

You can't search by handle for some reason, only character name.

all I know is, when I changed to a different handle today, alan wasn't able to see me online. when I changed back, he saw me online. In fact, when I was under a different handle, he sent me another request to add me to his friendlist, and I think I'll have to accept him in order for him to see my new handle.
