Sorry, I had composed a reply to your question but I guess the tubes ate it.

Personally, I'm not a fan of CDFE unless you fit two or three of them. That's really just a philosophical thing and not science.

Do a bit of killboard scouting. What are your likely enemies' known ships flown? If they're blasting around in Slicers all day, then you need the EM. If you plan to take out some Vexors and Drakes, then CDFE is a good choice.

Are you going to grind up the isk to replace a Firetail every time you lose one?

I have a couple PLEX in my pocket to cash in. I think I'll probably just rely on PLEX for income unless I eventually do incursions or something like that.

I think I'm starting to chafe at e-uni's NRDS policy, spent yesterday afternoon trying to find a fight, kept finding neutrals that didn't agress, that I would've loved to shoot. Was thinking of joining a low-sec pirate corp, like BDFS/r1fta. Looked at Tuskers but they have more stringent entry requirements. You know anything about them, or other similar corps?

I don't know if I'll be able to play enough over the next month to meet the STIM requirements you mentioned, but ultimately that's where I'd like to end up this summer.

I've heard of Tuskers. They've been an ongoing concern for a while. Rixx Javix used to be in Rote Kapelle with his corp, but they left STUGH and he shuttered the corp. Later he joined Tuskers. I have not heard of the other two.

A lot of the lowsec entities I am familiar with have closed shop.

If you are set on joining STIM, my advice is just apply now. We're not monsters. Mention you're getting married at the end of April and thus won't do much but get in theater before May. Also mention I am coming to the wedding.

Ok I posted. I have to say I'm not that optimistic, after scanning all the other apps and seeing skillpoints ranging from 50 million to >100 mil, and killboards with over a thousand kills. Haha.

Like I said, RL friends get a pass. You're not even the first RL friend I have gotten into STIM.

First, move your shit to highsec. Then drop your roles/apply to STIM. We live in TXW-EI VIII - Moon 8 - Aliastra Retail Center. Let me know when you've submitted your app and I'll lean on the right people to accept it.

The safest way to get your shit into position is through corp logistics. The dude running it at the moment only takes care of business every month-ish, so the turn-around might be a while. It is free, though, which is nice. Basically, you get your stuff to Jita or or highsec cyno staging area and set up a courier contract. Then, the courier contract gets done.

The alternative is hauling stuff in via Vestouve. Not a death sentence, but a bit dangerous. If you get me or someone to scout your hauler, that's probably OK. If you pilot a combat ship into TXW via Vestouve that's low risk, particularly once you have acquired a STIM corp tag. Be smart and don't lose your shit while moving.

If you need something from someone in corp before you join, bug the people in the Stimulus public channel. It's mostly full of shitty in-space contacts from other alliances, though, so it's not particularly useful. Once you are in corp, then corp chat is the right place to ask questions.

Apart from recruitment and HR, we don't use the Stimulus website for anything. All the action is on the Rote site, so definitely register there.

Oh, and when you are in Syndicate, be on Teamspeak. There's no reason not to.

We don't currently have any ways to produce jump clones, so if EVE-U does take full advantage of that before leaving. After you get into STIM, definitely move your medclone to TXW.

Thanks, I guess I had a bout of skill/skillpoint insecurity.

Would Bei work ok for that? Would be pretty easy for me to move my stuff there, just 2 jumps away from Dudreda.

No. The highsec cyno staging area is a location which is carefully chosen, as is Jita (obvs). The cyno station has to be within range of wherever you're lighting the cynosaural field to which you jump your cap ship, and it needs to be a non-dangerous station which makes it easy to dock up/undock without risking more than is necessary. I'll evemail you.

Alright, I'll move everything to Bei and then have Red Frog move it the rest of the way. Should be able to get it done sometime on the next few days, hopefully.

Jayarr is our sole resident teenager. Feel free to ignore him?

Check this out once you have moved to get some sense of the lowsec around us.

Do you know how to reapproach a gate under fire or scan down a target? We should figure out a time to try that.

I don't think I know how to do either of those things. Scanning down a target = using combat probes?

No, dscan.

Let me know when you're gonna have time to play again. You don't need to be in corp for that.

Well, yes, but quite possibly not in your TZ. When?

Your app is cleared with the right folks now, btw. Hang out in channel Stimulus in-game and ask to talk to a recruitment officer. They just want to make sure you understand what kind of space outfit this is. Apply whenever you like and your app will get accepted right after your interview.

Cass asked me to preemptively inform you that Rote is bad at forums. We have a core of people who really care about constant improvement of every Rote pilot's skills. That translates to a certain amount of hurf and blurf on the killboard and forums. New guys sometimes see that, especially new guys who only know us from our bad posters on Failheap Challenge, and decide we make bad posts as part of our culture. After they stick around for a while, they realize the difference between bad posts and improving other members' skills, and that gets sorted. Rote isn't Goons, however. Or TEST. Or SNIGG. There are justifiable reasons to give someone shit and there are unjustified reasons.

tl;dr if anybody gives you shit on the kb or forum it is because they are helping. If anybody does something out if line, though, it is because they need to be corrected.

Comms etiquette is different. It is weird if someone even raises his voice on Teamspeak.

Similar time as last time, like 6:30 PST? I should be able to play either night until 9:00 PST. If that's too early for you then probably not until next week.

I've spent some time reading your killboards, I do like that people give pretty frank feedback on fits. As far as being bad at forums, remember that I've been on the Something Awful forums for over 10 years. Haha.
