That's a good plan. We definitely should, or shouldn't, follow it.

BTW for anyone who doesn't know, http://www.ffxionline.com seems to be the main fansite for the game.

Yep. As for the space, good thing I burned off ~13 GBs over the weekend.

Well he doesn't have a party. But seeing how I'm gonna get a world pass from the friend I'll most likely play with him at first. I assume most of you guys won't get the game until a bit later correct?

Hmm... I tried Ventrilo with Dave (he uses it for CS iirc) and the quality was quite good. Guess this means I'll need to buy a microphone in addition to FF XI.

Also, just finished reading a LOT of FAQs... Weapon Skill Chains (Renkei) + Magic Burst is "teh win!", but I wonder how long it'll take us to "play nice". Mmm... mid-renkei magic bursts... x2-x10 damage...

I'm still a bit confused about leveling though.

For example: (lvl in parentheses)
If I'm a MNK(24)/THF(10) and need X experience to hit MNK(25), but instead switch to THF(10)/MNK(5), do I still need X experience to hit THF(11)? I have a feeling each job is completely independent, meaning THF(11) requires the same experience as MNK(11), which is MUCH less than MNK(25), but I'm not sure.

Minor question: not sure how rounding works either.
ie. what's the max sub job lvl if your main is 11?

I'd like to use another voice comm so I can still have my cs clan's vent open. we even have a gunbound and DAOC channel! lol

As far as I can tell, subs and nonequipped jobs have no effect at all on experience. So THF(11) is the same as MNK(11), no matter what.

Rounding of what? Like, odd levels? Beats me.

what's wrong with just making a ffxi channel? or are we not good enough for your cs clan?

I wonder that myself. However, my guess is it is rounded up. I believe this because if you look at the stat calculators on the web, a level 1 Warrior with level 30 Samurai has a advantage over a level 1 Warrior alone. Therefore, I conclude he is an effective WAR(1)/SAM(1). But that's just deduction.

If you're not our White Mage, Dave will cry.

Basically, we got bitchslapped by SB, so we are wary of buying the game at launch. We'll wait as long as Alan can contain himself before starting. I am guessing about a week, at this rate.

As far as World Pass, if your friend gives you a World Pass on Thursday, we could all take a piece of that this weekend.

Yeah I'll probably be getting the game toward the end of the week. Thursday or Friday, most likely, unless there are subscription or stability issues.
