Might and Magic:Heroes Kingdoms
Might and Magic:Heroes Kingdoms
Hmm... so ubi has apparently made a web/browser based strategy mmo based in the world of Heroes of Might and Magic. It reminds me of travian (joe you still play that?) but with the depth of HoMM: heroes, most of the races and units, 7 resources, armor/spells/hero abilities, random mobs to kill. It almost makes it seem possible that you can focus on just building up your heroes instead of the generic formula of other strategy mmos that focus on build and conquer as fast as you can.
On the downside, it's much much slower paced (ex: you have to taken into account your armies need to rest at night and will not move for 8hrs). It's basically one of those games you setup some actions then come back at the end of the day/beginning of next to see what happens. Also, there seems to be some sort of cash shop thing.
I'm giving it a try for now, and the cool thing is that if you join me there's an option to spawn near me vs the other side of the world like travian! Also there's gold bonus for me (which I'll share with you once I figure out how to trade...). And it's a fairly new world. Let me know if you play!

Nope, doing coordinated attacks was too much work in the Travian end game so I stopped playing.
Travian allowed you to choose a region to spawn and as long as you both sign up around the same time, you'll be near each other.

At least you don't have to pay a per boost cost...Actually, the free version of the game lets you control 3 towns.
Subscribing will remove* this limit immediately. Your power will spread over Ashan!
you can only hire a maximum of 3 heroes.
Subscribing allows you to hire more heroes to obey your whims!
Your mailbox provides you with the basic ability to receive and exchange messages.
Upgrading grants more storage capacity, management options, allows you to contact more people at a time, and provides you a blacklist!
Equipping an item binds it to your hero. It takes 4 days for the item to be unbound for use with another hero.
Subscribing lowers the cooldown down to 1 day!

Re: Might and Magic:Heroes Kingdoms
there's a link on the top toolbar "refer a friend". So I got 1k for first referral, 800 for the others. Once I figure out how to send stuff, you'll get some gold to help build up .

ok, the stupid thing doesn't work in Chrome. I thought there was some other requirement.
As for Joe's question, it has all four resource types. You already have a plot on in your control area that has all four resource types.

Yay, I'm right next to the BigStink. Wooo.
What do I spend gold on? Should I infini-recruit?

Re: Might and Magic:Heroes Kingdoms
considering it actually takes time, money, and an idle hero to recruit things...that might slow things down =P
Re: Might and Magic:Heroes Kingdoms
Ultimately to win the game we need to gather 12 tears of asha. 3 ways to gather tears:
A. ppl familiar w/ HoMM will know this one, find monoliths, build town a town there, decipher it, find the "X", build another town and dig.
B. epic npc battle, (requires building a portal and caps how much army you can bring =( ).
c. sacrifice enormous amounts of resources to "bake" one.
Unfortunately, just "getting a tear" doesn't mean you own it yet. You'll need to build a grail building to cement it for your alliance. Before this happens it's fair game for others.
The cool things is that even if we don't win, any bonus from grail buildings we have will carry to next game.
I"m up for B/C method. A just seems much faster yet annoying due to the number of things that can go wrong...

I am in the alliance.
Uh, so people who pay get more than three heroes? That seems... skewed.
