Anime: Appleseed: Ex Machina

Appleseed: Ex Machina ( Anime News Network )

Very pretty and actually quite good provided you can handle the John Woo style fanservice and the ironic deus ex machina which makes up the last ~1/3 of the movie. However, it was produced by John Woo, so it's not unexpected. Definitely worth a watch for the eye-candy alone imho.

Here are some spoiler-free images. The production quality is consistent throughout. I omitted most of the action scenes, explosions, car scenes, fights, acrobatics, gunfire, etc. since still images don't do them justice.

Also, apologies in advance in using images from the 720p version, but I'm too lazy to make new ones from the 1080p version. Let's just say they're better :)

Jason Miao (from Derailed by Darry) was recently asked to review Appleseed: Ex Machina. Here's the kicker though, it was by one of Warner's marketing groups.

When I was asked to write a review for Appleseed EX Machina by one of Warner’s marketing groups, I was a bit confused. Scratch that. Extremely confused. Wait, are you sure you want someone who writes stuff like “minami-ke vs. otome wa boku, dr jack style” to review this?
