Dofus
Welcome to the club. I bought a cheap (2500) Gobball belt to try to get the set bonus, but then found out it required level 20 to wear. Luckily, since it was freakishly cheap when I bought it, I was able to sell it for 3500 and pocketed about 800 profit after listing fees.Dwindlehop wrote:I bought a Mental Ring (+11 int) without realizing it was lvl14.
Similarly, Peijen bought an amulet to boost range. Also turned out to be level 20, part of a set where most stuff required L40+, and wouldn't affect most of his spells even if he could wear it. Dunno what happened to it. Did you sell it back Peijen?
What I have learned from the experience is to watch for items that are too cheap. Buy them, even if you don't need them, and then relist them for a profit. Lots of PC merchents sell acorns and larvae skins for <100, but they sell for 200+ consistently on the market. So, I've made some money that way. Hopefully, next time I log on, I can afford a Gobball Hammer. Then I will rock even more than I already do.
Not true. The amulets (?) are readily available for mid three-figures. And I think at least one other item is less than 2000. Remember that the individual items' bonuses are negligeable compared to the set bonus, so you can jsut buy the cheapest version of each available. Also, check PC merchants. Some of them sell significantly cheaper than the market (I saw a Gobball Hammer for 5000 vs ~6000 on the market, but didn't have the cash to buy it)Dwindlehop wrote:Man. Each piece costs 5-20kk. I'd lend you some, but all my cash is tied up speculating on a gobball belt (again), and a variety of rose petals, dandelions, blue larvae skins, gobball horns, and acorns. Of course, that also meant I was 1500 short of buying the gobball hammer when I finally found a PC merchant selling it.
Oh, 7 water sold for 10 apiece at the flower watering place in nine hours. So if you see water cheaper, buy it and camp there.

Well, I finally got my hammer. I actually had to run out of town and fight stuff at the last minute because I most of my assets were illiquid. My overconfidence at having the hammer then killed me. Sure, I can deal 35+ points of damage plus tofu and gobball, but so can they. And I have less HP.
I say gobble or occasionally goblin when I'm not thinking. Just like I call the game doofus.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
