Yeah, I've always assumed. That's why I want encryption everywhere!

Ok new question.

If I have a phone with bluetooth and a pda with bluetooth. Can I connect to the internet with pda through the phone assume I have whatever plans I need?

Are there phones with bluetooth?

Bluetooth is not Ethernet. It's more like Cat-5.

In theory, it's possible. In practice, you are unlikely to find both a phone and a PDA that use the same internet sharing Bluetooth technology. It's possible, though, so go ahead and research it. However, I do know that there are at least two types of Bluetooth connections. There's a voice channel type and a data channel type. I expect that phones generally implement the voice channel type for use with wireless headsets. I am unaware of Bluetooth applications for PDAs at this time, with the exception of two PDAs exchanging data, like IR connections. But then, I am not well-versed in this.

A guy I know at work has a bluetooth phone through at&t, but he only uses it to synch up his phone with his laptop.

Also a good choice. I've always really liked lemon merengue. I like to eat the pie and the merengue separately. Is so gud!

Palm Tungsten T $349, http://www.palm.com
To email or Web surf, you'll have to hunt down a Bluetooth-enabled cell - or stick close to a Bluetooth access point.

So there you go. It is possible.

all the really good features are expensive add-in cards

He could get a cheaper palm and pay the $130 for the blue tooth card. Speaking of which, why don't they have a Wi-Fi card too?!

I must say these handhelds are way better than the older palm3xe... I wonder what the useable battery life of these are.

looks like you have to buy license if you want to do anything except development for palm. can't even offer them as free download for others... and no compiler.

microsoft gives out a free fully functional IDE. No mention of license but I think it's free.

This is how MS got to where they are today, of course. All that software that runs on Windows is their leverage. And boy, do they know how to use leverage.

Yep, that's what I though too. They stand to make lots of money by giving out free shit.
