I am supplementing the original NWN rules (patch level 1.66) with Core Rulebooks v.3.5 Player's Guide and DM guide. If everyone else has the expansions, I will also add SoU and HotU. Under no circumstances will I be allowing any PnP expansion ruleset.

You are familiar with the river as far upstream as the lake where Svenja drowned two years ago. The people of your hamlet don't go beyond that; the mountains that way have a nasty reputation. Downstream, you've been to Linz quite a few times. Linz is a small town, smaller than Vienna.

It's late fall. You can forage for food easily enough right now, but in a month the first snows will come. After that, foraging will become very difficult.

Time of day or date?

I generally get home from work at 6 pm PST nowadays. I think our best bet is Saturday morning, around 9 am PST.

Datewise, Jason still needs to install, patch, and create a character, I need to get TS running, and I haven't built the module yet.

TeamSpeak RC2 server is up at

24.20.141.176

I can connect locally as Anonymous with no password. I think it'll reject you if you try to connect as Registered. I'll leave it up for the next 24 hours. Try to connect sometime. I'll have to take it down after that, because we'll have a house guest.

Good deal. I might try installing Aurora on my laptop so I can make the module. Stupid lack of Linux tools.

Jason, what's your status? Do you have HotU or SoU?

Okay, that went nowhere.

Let's try this again. Bump the thread if you're interested.

Updated ToDo list:
  • DONE Get TS server up.
  • Everyone get NWN installed and patched up. I've already done this. I need to install the platinum edition, though.
  • DONE Crack open the manual and reacquaint myself with the DM tools.
  • Character creation. See above. Peijen has a druid?
  • Make the empty rooms I mentioned before.
  • Make sure everyone can connect to my server.
  • Pick a time to play.
  • DONE Send everyone a "map" and background info.

If we have critical mass, I figure starting right after everyone's vacations are done.

Don't seem to have critical mass. Maybe next year sometime. I'll bump the thread when the mood strikes me. In the meantime, I guess I'll beat HotU and SoU. That should take me six months.

The mood has struck me. I've been playing SoU and desperately want to blow players up (I mean, DM).

We could do my variation of the World's Largest Dungeon instead of the campaign outlined above. It would rock your tiny self-centered universe, let me tell you. Min/maxxing hax0rs for the win, baby. All the dungeon-crawling goodness, none of the boring repetition.

Or we could download a multiplayer module and just play it, DMing optional.

Since everybody who counts (joe doesn't count) is in Eastern, I imagine we'd play convenient Eastern times and I'd just suck it up.

I am game if I can find my CDs and can run it on my laptop. Maybe we can all get together in Jason's or my place and conspire against Jon.

Maybe I should get NWN + expansions for Mac, play it twice and then forget about it.
