song of ice and fire (spoilers)

Wait, who was it that hired the guy to knife Bran, and what was his motivation?

Also, heh, a writer trying to redeem his character who is an incestuous, child-assaulting regicide has got his work cut out for him.

I thought he was hired by Cersei, and that she did it because he saw her and Jaime do the naughty naughty.

But I read the books like 2 years ago so I don't really remember much.

I just finished the third book a week ago.

It was Joffrey who hired the guy to knife Bran. Tyrion and Jamie figure it out separately towards the end of the third book. Supposedly Joffrey idolized his fake father Robert and he heard Robert say when he was 'deep in his cups' at winterfell that putting down lame horses shouldn't end with just horses. I can find the book reference if you want.

How is song of ice and fire? Is it in paperback yet?

Hm guess I need to reread these books someday. Feast for Crows is finally finished and was so long that it had to be split into two different books. I think one half will deal with half the characters, the other half will deal with the other characters. So the next book will be focused I think on the non-Daenerys storyline. Or maybe the other way around.

I have all three in paperback. Yeah, Joffrey sounds right.

I got Feast for Crows in November. All of the characters you don't care about, and none of the ones you do. It was a little Robert Jordan-y in failing to move the plot along. Not a lot of people died, either. I'm hoping A Dance with Dragons is more satisfying.

Yeah, I was only caring about Arya and Jaime pretty much. And neither of them did all that much really.

Next book should focus on Daenerys and Jon I guess. ie the parts of the world where stuff is actually happening.

There needs to be another rebellion/war. Like the Dornish dude. Or Daenerys. Or, hell, the Others.
