vonage and skype. that's all i know. never used it. i think joe tried skype...

Sharad's parents always used it. Terrible quality, a second or more lag, bad echos. That was back in 1999-2000, so maybe its improved since then.

Quality seems ok, co-worker here uses it. Bonus being you cna have voice mail, actually e-mailed to you so you can play at work and annoy the whole office.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

I sometimes get internet calls from India (seriously). They sound like crap. I don't know if it's actual VoIP or just some random internet based phone thing, but it sucks hard. Most of it is difficulty understanding the severe accent, but the audio stream has a fair amount of echo.

However, I've used the iChat voice feature, and it works great, even with just a laptop's built in speakers and mic and no headset. They do a lot of echo cancellation for that one.
