So, there exists an immortal zombie cyborg with a USB 1.1 interface and mohtalim is loaded onto jump drive that is plugged into it?? Maybe that would explain the errors about not being able to connect to the database earlier and the extreme slowness after that?

Sad that it takes a Monty Python reference to remind me that I was recording motd's... Anyone remember some of the better ones from the last week or two and want to post them?

Did you seriously just write the word "hampster"? Joe, what the fuck?
HAMSTER.
HAMSTER
HAMSTER
HAMSTER
HAMSTER

That one's misspelled almost as often as "inteligint", and by the same people, I'd surmise.

but most people I know pronounce a "puh" in hamster so eventually, joe's sucking will win. It always does.

I'm so glad bob is the paragon of spelling that he is! Now get the big, fat stick out of your ass and go back to playing with your Nintendo.

Oh, c'mon Joe. I don't get mad when you guys correct my spelling or grammar. In fact, I think you guys should correct my spelling and grammar more often.

The common abbreviation is "c'mon." Now, granted, there are truly no standard ways of writing the vernacular, but I think for maximum clarity you want to hew to the most easily recognized spelling.

I'd put a comma after "fact" in that second sentence because it is more correct stylistically. Grammatically, what you have written is correct.

I only got annoyed because it's bob and I don't think he meant it as a minor sticking point, but as a full-blown pet peeve instead.

Now, in contrast, Jonathan's post was obviously just trying to be helpful.

I'm not convinced that grammar should be pluralized. Typically each language is considered to have exactly one grammar, and so far as I know you never communicate with any of us using any other language. As such, we would have no opportunity to correct more than one of your grammars.

Also, the definition of grammar that can be pluralized is typically a property of a language; i.e., only a language should use a possessive form with it. As such, you can not use "my grammars" unless you yourself are multiple languages. "My grammar" or "their [referring to a collection of languages] grammars" would be appropriate.

And that brings us to a final point, which is that Joe sucks. And Bob is gay and possibly texan.

If we were able to combine, a la Voltron, we could create some sort of uber picky spelling- and grammar-correcting robot. That would be great.
