I found listening to NPR for more than half an hour is like watching sportscenter for more than half an hour

then again, I only listened to npr when I was driving long distances

Peijen is, of course, correct. Real never works, so if you want to listen to the audio, you are forced to choose WMP.

Incidently, on their website they have a FAQ asking why their broadcasts aren't available as mp3. They say it's because it's a hassle to convert all their Real files into mp3.

NPR on the web is probably better than NPR on the radio, because you can selectively listen to only those bits that interest you. I usually wind up listening to the classical music station instead of NPR.

I like listening to NPR on long driving trips. I'll check it when driving shorter distances for any classical music that I actually know.

But I have gotten several good music recommendations from NPR's World Music show. For example, Koop and Morelenbaum.

And I now have a gold mini iPod, a late graduation gift. Heh. It's "only" 4 gigs, but I have 1 gig of music on it now and don't have much more to put on it.
