"IT Labor Shortage"

Post by Jonathan »

Wadhwa believes these workers could be easily “skilled up” in the event of temporary shortages.
What on earth is this man talking about?

I was gonna link the article, but the article is really atrocious. Read /. instead.

In my opinion, Gates and Barrett aren't talking about "IT workers". They're talking about actual engineers, both software and hardware (and non-computery things, like mechanical). The guys who actually make or break a tech company. Not the Java programmers who automate your accounts receivable.

We still haven't filled that software engineer position to the best of my knowledge. Many folks have been phone screened, and quite a few have been flown to Oregon. None were right.
