I like this turret defense. It's a non-maze, non-exp design with mobs that shoot at your turrets. The levels are basically a tutorial for the endless mode, which is the real game. Also, there's achievements which give you the necessary wherewithal to do well at endless.

I don't recommend leveling up the British. They do a trivial job of the levels, but endless is just not gonna work without super cannons or instakill.

My best endless is level 30 with the British, no cannon.

You can kind of define a maze through the use of weak spots and cannon because the AI will try to optimize its path, but I haven't been able to make that useful yet.

Ugh, I hit a situation where the game got stuck. The units just keep moving back and forth trying to figure out what to do with the barricades I threw up to channel the units to be in front of the puckle gun which I positioned behind the main building. The main building kills the few units that figure out how to get around to the sides while the puckle gun picks up everything else.

It's happened twice now because of the stupid Infantry and Engineers that get stuck. I'm done playing this game.

That helps. It also helps save some barricades that units further back target because units further ahead blocked their movement. Clicking it forces them to reevaluate their targets.

The AI for the engineers seems to target the closest building regardless of it's on the path to your main fortress. Found this by accident when I mis-clicked on the screen instead of the menu and placed a random lone barricade in the middle of nowhere. This resulted in ALL the engineers making a quick bee line away from their formation to destroy the barricade. Might be useful to slow them down for minimum cost (unfortunately this does make them get stuck more often).

P.S. Add me as a friend on kongregate (username: vyrosama)!!!! Then you can see all my badges (like the brilliant on all 15 maps in Cursed Treasure XD). We can also do groups/etc in the browser based mmos (like caesary - travian clone)!

I like this. Fairly short and shallow progression from basic turret to maxed out turret in terms of damage, but there's a broad array of non raw damage options to choose from. XP based, but not per turret: each kill's XP goes into an XP pool to be spent on new upgrades. Basic turrets cost no XP. There's two types of resources: gold (from kills) and wood/crystal/metal, from terrain. You choose to set your turret mining to get more resources, but you forgo that turret's damage. This is a nice way to fill up the minutes while the mobs get shot.

It did crash on me once when I had a turret upgrade window open when I finished a level. I have played it fairly extensively, though, with just that one crash.

There is a germ of a very good game here. Right now, this basically consists of one level, plus some training exercises. It's a good level. The interface needs some work.

It's an RTS where units are a mined resource rather than built. The enemy has the power to mine your guys, as well. It's a tower defense in that the only possible offense is via towers. And without careful management of bullets, your nice new expansion base will get smoked very easily.

Important to note: zombies are like sand people.

Took the time to beat. The RPG power curve is such that the last few levels are just mop-up, no matter how difficult. Other than the ability to earn far-too-powerful toys and an irritating transient interface bug, I have no complaints about this. A model tower defense game w/XP.

I'm unsure that I like this game, but I like the genre. Is this a genre? It should be.

You level up a party and then take them into multiplayer (actually, player-created parties controlled by CPU) battles.

I only made a Kongregate account because Chuck has one... Still not using any of those features.

Same dev, same concept plus/minus some tweaks, a bit easy but fun nonetheless

I've been looking for a decent web/flash based mmo that we all could play but so far have yet to find any good ones. I know that Kongregate has quite a few so maybe I'll find a decent one..

You know, I tried that Deadly Neighbors but didn't post it. I couldn't understand the combat interface at all.

Well, if you're interested in giving it a try again, I can explain it fairly quickly.

You generate 5 action points (AP) per turn. Each turn you're allowed one and only one action. These actions range from equipping a weapon, throwing a ranged item, or moving a single character back or forward. Movement is free but equipping/throwing costs AP. You can think of throwing a item the same as casting a spell. Note also, equipping a melee weapon will automatically trigger that character to "charge" into battle (each charge will reduce your AP generation by 1).

So the general strategy of the game is balancing when to save AP versus charge in with lower costing/damaging weapons. You could try pelting the enemy with items till they are close enough for melee. Or you can sit back take a few hits and whip out a chainsaw/ak47 and blow the enemy away. What makes the game interesting/fun are the variety of weapons with various abilities like (knockback, stun, wound, burn, disarm, reflect projectiles) and character perks (immune to fire, +knockback, etc).

Combine physics and a TD, and you get a pretty damn good game. I got to level 103 on my first try, and haven't got anywhere near that since.
