Developers are just too damn young and ignorant. Yay, we reinvented VB 5, but now it's TEH WEB-NESS!
Yes, replacing JS would make web programming less bad. Much like cutting your own arm off is less bad with a sharp saw than a butter knife. Usually, though, cutting one's own arm off is the wrong solution to the problem, regardless of the tool you use.
