The authors also note other research claiming math-gifted children tend to be left-handed males who are nearsighted and have a higher than average incidence of allergy, migraine and other immune disorders.
Didn't see it make the clear link, but testosterone is suspected to cause all these things.Jason wrote:http://abcnews.go.com/sections/SciTech/ ... 412-1.htmlThe authors also note other research claiming math-gifted children tend to be left-handed males who are nearsighted and have a higher than average incidence of allergy, migraine and other immune disorders.
The strange thing is, testosterone may cause left-handedness (never been proved). Left-handers are more likely to have language represented in both hemispheres (language in the left hemisphere might be why spatial tasks are shunted to the right hemisphere). However, women tend to have more symmetrical brains.
US Soldiers asked to pray for President Bush:

The pamphlet, produced by a group called In Touch Ministries, offers a daily prayer to be made for the US president, a born-again Christian who likes to invoke his God in speeches.
Sunday's is "Pray that the President and his advisers will seek God and his wisdom daily and not rely on their own understanding".
probably more useful for me since I probably drink the most in the group, but I guess just for your own enlightenment:

You know you're addicted to porn when you surf for it at work. When Shelley first floated the filter idea, she says, "James was like, 'Whatever.' You know, just appeasement." But now he's hooked on the freedom from temptation. "It wasn't until we got the filter that he was glad we did. Once he made up his mind to stop -- when he could see the damage it was doing to me and to our marriage -- then it was just a matter of removal of the temptation. It really just took away that magnetic pull," she says. James decided later to install a filter on his work computer, too.
