I'm really surprised at the number of these I've read considering that I haven't picked up a book since I started college except for the George R.R. Martin series.

I think there are two or three I probably should go get on my tablet.

Odd that there's nothing on there by Flint, Weber, Duncan, Drake, Ringo, or Stirling. If Flint were in and Heinlein out, I might say its because of NPR's audience's political leanings. Actually, nothing by Turtledove, Weis, Hickman, or Stackpole either, and they're mostly apolitical. Maybe because the pre-1960s stuff is sometimes high school required reading, it's familiar to more people and the modern stuff can't compete.

I read the Foundation trilogy recently on a whim. It's occasionally badly dated, but much of it held up.
