Pros:

• Awesome
• Great price and free shipping for orders $49 or more
• The deal should last throughout the weekend
• 55W consumption for ~250W of brightness (Compact Fluorescent)
• Dimmable (not crappy three-way)
• Comes with bulb (~5 year aveage life)
• From experience, essentially Instant-on (not like crappy ccfls)

Cons:

• The dimmer can break, in which case you can fix the switch or toss the lamp. I've done the prior with two in the past.
• Since it's compact fluorescent, there is (a small amount) of mercury in the bulb (do not lick)
• Bulbs are ~$20

Other:

• I currently own three of these and love them (2+ from Lowe's, the rest from Home Depot).
• If I remember correctly, I've owned seven extremely similar models. The dimmer broke on two of them after many years, one broke during my latest relocation (shade was shattered during unpacking), and I sold one to an old roommate before relocating to a smaller place.
• I bought two more lamps since they are awesome and I like light.
• Lowe's search utility/tagging sucks. This lamp does NOT show up under floor lamps nor does it show up under $25-$50. It's a good thing I knew exactly what I was looking for.

My understanding of CFLs was that dimmer switches reduced their lifetime.

Standard CFLs yes. Ones made for dimming, like these bulbs, no.
