Walk Score

Take that Bembridge Scholars! Our apartment is a perfect 100/100.

Skimming the results makes me wonder about their methodology, however. "Western Culinary Institute" is our result for schools. Really, Walk Score? Not Portland State or Lincoln High?

Also, their range seems to be calibrated for the old or infirm. We walk a shitload farther than that.

I got a 74, but it doesn't take into account nearness to key public transportation like a BART 2 blocks away, easy bus access to a mall 2 miles away, and a bus to Palo Alto (across the bay) stops on the same block as my apartment (after starting at the BART station).

51 here, but quite a few of the locations don't have a sidewalk to either :/

I added to the survey on the blog that they need the ability to add or remove locations. I doubt they'll do it, but I would suggest if you have time to suggest that to them. Most of their locations around me kind of suck in terms of they don't fit the categories.

82, but I'd have to buy my clothing from "Krudmart".

68, but they mismapped a movie theater and grocery store two miles closer to me than they actually are. The nearest three "grocery stores" (not counting the mismapped one are a pair of 7-11s and a latino ghetto "Food Star". The nearest bookstore doesn't exist; it may have closed before I moved here.

I am reasonably happy with the walking because I do have several fast food restaurants, a library, and a mechanic in walking distance.

I got a 52...but I guess it sorta makes sense...I'm really really close to a lot of things...I just have to walk across highways to get to them
