How much do you think this guy would've been awarded if this had happened in the US?

Assuming the court believed the experts in the same way, about 5 times as much. I think probably that they wouldn't have bought that explanation, though, and would have gone for about half a mill. And it would have been settled out of court.

At least it's not as bad as that Romanian urologist who went crazy and diced his patient's penis and walked away with a fine. And then had his colleagues stand up for him and get angry about him getting disciplined at all.

In case you didn't see/forgot this one. I think I posted about this a while back. I wonder what would've happened if THAT had happened in the US. Haha.

He'd be on TV stating he's not gay and insisting that it was a mistake to have plead guilty.
