That seems like a staggering amount of data growth. At ~30kbytes/s bitrate, that means a new TB hard drive every 11 hours. Really 3 new 1TB hard drives if they're using the same replication policy they're using for other stuff. So that means, they need to order 2400 hard drives a year, just for YouTube... ok, maybe that's less staggering than I thought. Still, it's a lot of content being generated. I guess I'll never watch all of what's available on YouTube, not that I'd really want to.
Let's see, another way to look at this is that there are 900 people continuously recording video of their lives and uploading it to youtube... Maybe we could jumpstart our economy if we get everyone who's unemployed to start doing the same thing!
