The Blue Gene/L system for the DoE holds the top spot with an impressive 478.2TFlop/s up about 200TFlop/s from only six months ago!
A lot of new computers in the top 10 this time. The #2, #3, #4, #5 and #9. The #4 system is in India, which has never before been in the top 10.
IBM's own in-house supercomputer is still ranked in the top 10 at #8. The top 7 are all over 100TFlop/s.
This is an interesting plot showing share of the Top500 by country since 1993. The US has maintained a sizable lead with between 45% and 65% of the computers.
This shows that Intel still supplies most of the processing power on the Top500 list.
