Django "Web framework"

Post by VLSmooth »

Any thoughts regarding Django and it's competitors?A (python-fanatic mind you) friend is planning on using it. I hadn't heard of it before, so I did a little research. Sounds very nice on the outside, but I'm a novice in the field of web frameworks.

Well which framework to use all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. There are no blanket statements that can be made about any one framework. I have personally used Turbogears before and that worked out for me for a little while. If they're looking long term on this sort of thing they might want to go with ruby on rails since it sounds like it will last longer than these frameworks.
