Slay the Spire

Post by Jonathan »

Fairly fun cross of FTL with a deck building game. Initially, it seems like it's all about new cards, but really it's about the exact right cards. Also, lots of block.

There's three decks: Ironclad, Silent, and Defect. You can beat the game with each, and once you beat it the first time with a deck there's an Ascension option for a second playthrough.

I beat Defect last week. Took me maybe 20 hours to figure out the deck and get some dece rolls. So that's 1/6 complete. I'm plugging away at Ironclad and can consistently get to the 2nd boss, but then I die. Takes maybe 30m for a run, or a little longer for a good run?

Beat Silent. Lots of little attacks, lots of draw, and a relic to beef up my strength when I do 3 attacks in a round. I also had poison power.

Beat Ironclad. You need some decent block, but I won on the back of Feed+healing+strength gain. All my boss wins were won 1 turn before death.
