RSE Quest Gathering/Info lvl 25+

Basically, this is a quest for Race Specific Armor for your race, req lvl 27-33 to use. It's nice armor enhancing each race's "weaknesses" or, if you're hume, add randomly to everything. Even if you dont want to use them, they sell for 30-50k each in AH.

Basically you need:
50 quests completed ANYWHERE.

The Quest:
Open a chest in one of 3 dungeons (Ordelle's / Gusgen / Maze) during your RACE & SEX to obtain a pattern.
Turn in pattern to get a RSE peice.

The Camp:
Camping the baddies that drop each one of these keys at anytime. The exact dungeon & key you need rotates every in-game week, so I believe if we just camp one of the 3 dungeons for keys, eventually that dungeon will be your specific race/sex.

Whereas the Kaz Pass was camping lvl 21-24 baddies, camping these keys are lvl 28-32 baddies. So we will need more than just 2 people probably.

Check the 'FFXI Links' thread, Jon posted a 'timer' page that lists, amongst other things, who's RSE day it is where not only today, but for the next week or so.

Ah...timer is useful. Maybe we can split up and camp all 3 dungeons all at once

At lvl 34-35 I think most things don't aggro, at least in Gusgen. Found that out when I was helping some people with skulls.

Any idea which mobs drop keys? Or do all of them have a chance of doing so?

yea, I was going by that timer. Not sure if that is in japanese time or not tho, but i usually just check with eth goblin to see what it is anyways.

Depending on teh dungron, all the harder baddies drop them. so that means the upperclass goblins/undead/birdies/elementals, etc

Ok, I was a little confused by this quest. Let's say you talk to the goblin during the week of your gender/race, then you should be fine. But if you talk to him during a different week, if you get the pattern for him, he will make you the armor that corresponds to that week? In other words, you can end up getting an armor that you can't wear?

I guess we need to worry about getting a key first before worrying about even finding the chest for the pattern

No, basically the long annoying part is camping of the keys. and that can be done at anytime.

You only get a "pattern" from the chest if it is your RACE/SEX otherwise you just get normal trasure loot. So the time frame only involves opening the chest during your week. Im sure once you got your pattern, and its turns to the next race/sex, you still get your own RSE.

Ok that was what I thought. I saw a chest when I was doing the skulls in Gusgen, ughh but no keys...maybe wasn't the right week either.

well the dungeon for your race always rotates (8 races, 3 dungeons - moves from one dungeon to next), so we should just pick one dungeon that is easiest to camp/get crafting items/loot too.

Flowerpot = 1k or more...well brass ones anyway

Actually second thought...if you don't check your plants at least once or twice per day (real time) the plant is most likely not going to survive.

Hehe, I went into Gusgen to kill some things hoping a key would drop...little did I know there was a boss there, nearly got myself killed. Ran like a bitch and escaped, phewww. He was just sitting in the middle of nowhere casting buffing spells on him and HASTE when he saw me, hehe. Me stay away from deep dungeons for now
