D&D Encounters

Post by VLSmooth »

D&D Encounters gives players an excuse to jump back in
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010 ... ack-in.ars

Would anyone else be interested in this?
Has anyone else heard of this?
Does anyone know if it's available nearby?
Edit: one can just enter their zip code, one is close to me

Something that explicitly aims to reduce overhead while increasing fun sounds worth trying to me (schedule permitting of course).

This came up when I was reading some old un-read RSS entires.

I wasn't sure if this thread should be under games or links. We need tagging instead of constrained hierarchies!

Well, I figured Links was for posts where you didn't have anything to say, really. If your post has original content, then it goes elsewhere.

In the spirit of not junking up your thread, huh. That sounds almost exactly like what I was looking for from 4th Ed.

I drove by the one close to me today while picking stuff up from Lowes. It's extremely close. I might swing by on the weekend.

I spent my freshman summer dropping by a Gamesworkshop at least once a week, and painting miniatures on the weekend. Is this something similar?
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

I didn't have the time to walk in, but the tour images in the other thread should give you an idea.

Interestingly enough, there's also a Games Workshop in the mall 5 minutes from me.

Strangely (or maybe not?) there are zero in anywhere near me. Well there's one in Queens, which is pretty difficult to get to from where I live.
