Wait, I thought I heard alt-tabbing disconnected you?

Well, I guess this makes sense, otherwise it'd be a damn cheap copout to save experience.

yes it disconnects YOU, but not your character. Your character stays in the game for about 30 secs, and yes for the purpose of people trying to "save their own ass"

is there a way to set it up so it's only disabled in playonline/ff11? I actually use it a lot.

..on the other hand, all I do now is ff11, so maybe it won't matter as much. I still like it.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

seeing that I have a natural keyboard the shape of it makes it easy to hit the windows key. And since I use macros all the time it's not surprising that once in a while I hit it.
