Valve's Zombie Thriller Expanding In 2009

February 5, 2009 — Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced a series of content and development releases for its latest title, 2008's best-selling new game property for the PC and Xbox 360, Left 4 Dead (L4D).

The first L4D DLC — dubbed the L4D Survival Pack -- is due for release this spring and introduces a new multiplayer game mode entitled, Survival, plus two complete campaigns for Versus Mode . A Critic's Choice Edition of the game will be heading to retail stores this spring, and will include access to all the content introduced in the L4D: Survival Pack.

In addition, for PC gamers and aspiring developers, the first Left 4 Dead release for the Source Software Development Kit (Source SDK) will allow the creation of custom Left 4 Dead campaigns that will be discoverable via L4D's matchmaking system. The SDK update is also due for release this spring, and is free of charge to all owners of L4D on the PC.

Sooo... did anyone new get it? We should have a get together as well once the new expansion comes out. I'm curious what the survival mode will be like. .

Great deal.

Last weekend's sale resulted in a 3000% increase over relatively flat numbers. It sold more last weekend than when it launched the game. WOW. That is unheard of in this industry. Valve beat its launch sales.

Yes, it's called "Left 4 Head".

Congratulations, Valve. You've finally made it to the big leagues. Some enterprising pornographers have parodied Left 4 Dead in a series of fleshy features that gives zombie smut lovers something to watch before bedtime.

The first episode, Left 4 Head, features the kind of fare you'd expect: Smoker tongues that aren't tongues and a very hands-on Hunter going after Zooey. Oops, I mean "Poker" and "Groper" special infected going after "Blowie."

The follow-up, which according to producers is "a must see for fans of the game or interracial sex," introduces us to the "Splooger" zombie. That shouldn't be too hard to figure out. It also features the XXX version of Louis, the "the tolken [sic] black dude in the game," in a post-rescue gesture that can probably be best described as the opposite of romantic.

We can't stress enough how NSFW and adults-only this is. The majority of this post's creation was spent finding a relatively safe screen shot. Seriously, this is straight up "erotic horror" pornography, my fellow adults.

New free expansion is out....includes a new mode of gameplay....survival...

It's sort of like the finale of each mission...except no one ever comes to save you... .

The games are usually very quick and require a bit of planning and teamwork. (To get a "gold", you just have to survive for 10 minutes...my top so far...is 3:53...got a bit of practice to go...)

  The I Hate Mountains campaign is divided into five different maps, just like Valve did with their own campaigns in Left 4 Dead 1. The difference is that our campaign is entirely nature-oriented, there’s only a few building and most of the action takes place in outdoor environments, which is a challenge to build in itself. We also focused our development on offering a better re-playability (note: the creators are French) by providing several long alternate paths in the levels that can totally change the way you play it.
