I always go through a period of video game depression after quitting a mmorpg, where I try out a bunch of games that was released after I got addicted to said MMO up to present time and invariably end up disappointed and uninstalling said games. Usually its because my pc sucks.

The List of Post-WoW games:
Prey
Civ IV
NFS: Carbon
NWN2
Splinter Cell random sequel
Nintendo DS
WoW Beta (doesnt really count)
Warhammer RTS game thingy
CS

So as to your question, FEAR was pretty good 20 hrs of gameplay.

I was actually looking for a multiplayer shooter, though I might wade through FEAR singleplayer if I can pick it up for like $10 someplace.

Have you beat Nintendo DS yet?

I beat NSMB, gave up on Metroid, too annoyed with unlocking tracks in mario kart, and forgot where I was supposed to go in FF4. I've caught alanitis.

I see a distinct lack of FFXII.

In other news I've been distracted from FFXII by the games called CSS and Ubuntu (silly system crashes on .mp4 files when I try to change the default player to VLC).

TBH I don't much care for VLC. Mplayer or Gnome movie thingy (Totem?) for the win.

I think our best bet to find a online multiplayer game to play is to all get some console network type thing like xbox live and kill each other repeatedly if a decent game comes out worth spending $50 on like Halo 3. Most of our PCs are too shitty to play any of the new games that might come out. My computer dies on the Doom 3 & unreal 2 engine. Heck, Counter Strike Source gets pretty choppy but I'm not thinking about upgrading to a new system anytime soon.

If I get anything it'd probably be a Wii. The newness factor of the controls might encourage me to play it for longer than 2 weeks.
