I wasted a bunch of AP searching for a toolbox. Note to self: XP first, then Construction, then maybe worry about tools. Anyway, I'm out of AP and I might get hit soon. Fun!

Actually, I'm going to take Free Running. Your scent trail apparently stops in the building you enter, so if you leap from building to building you leave no trail.

Forgot to mention I found a generator. When we all get together, I can deploy it in a ruined hospital to up our FAK chance so we can stock up, assuming someone else brings fuel. It would be possible to farm it for a few days, even. I think the best strategy in that case would be to sleep elsewhere, and close many of the nearby doors (not just our hiding spot). That'd require a lot of AP and skill, though.

http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Search_Odds/Summary

Data (well, limited data) shows that powered but ruined buildings give pretty good search rates, but they don't show as occupied like a non-ruined building does. This is much better than I had expected. Screw toolboxes!

I have a generator, a can of gas, a toolbox and a couple of pipes, but I'm way up in 384,26. I think you guys are around 350,65'ish. I'm a firefighter at 77 exp and only 30 HP, but not infected. Once I get enough xp for hand to hand and then free running, I'll start heading your way. The zombies up here seem to be few and not too clustered (only 1 or 2 at a time...), so maybe you want to head this way?

the Marvel Building [378,53] here. I would prefer heading north, then west, for sure. I'd rather not cross fields. Your proposal is acceptable.

30HP? Are you gonna make it?

I've been at 30 HP for a few days and there's another dude here for the zombies to start munching on. I haven't talked to him, so no idea what his plans are. He seems to be thinking the same strategy as me though (let the zombies eat him first).

There's a cluster of like 6 hospitals north of me and another cluster to the SW, both only about 10-15 moves away... I'm only 2 blocks from a lone hospital myself. We could take out the zombies (only a couple right now), fix it up and get a load of FAKs...

Oh, and just for Chuck, there's even a couple of junkyards around.

The coorfield building is under attack, one zombie outside, 2 insides, 4 survivors inside, no barricade. I ran up 2 N and holing up there at the moment. Goodrich Library [351,64]. It seems that if you try to free run from inside a building to another ruined one you ALWAYS fail and fall outside and lose 5 hp =( (but I guess you do save one 1 AP from not exiting the building first). Will head more north and see if the hospital/police stations are barricade up and maybe after I recharge and dump some more dead bodies I'll try to head up north toward joe. Anyone in our group have construction yet? I still have a few fuel cans.

*edit - didn't see your friend l as I was popping through...*

Random thought: In theory...if you had a good supply of FAKs you could just keep on failing Free Running jump into a ruins and then get someone to heal you back up...nice return on XP imo. Another random thought, I must have dumped out 10 dead bodies as I was traveling north. Best ratio for XP/AP spent I have gotten so far...unfortunately that means there's 10 zombies to become near me.....need a safe place to recharge.

The way I see it, we need a hospital to hole up in or at least be able to clean up real quick to get a good supply of FAKs. Nothing but FAKs really matter from any building that we don't already have. What really matters is beating up zombies for XP until we can start using guns. Then we need a police station too for easy ammo until we get head shot. Then we can start clearing zombies for fun and stable FAK/ammo profit. For that, we would want a police station and hospital right next to each other, like where I am right now. Since where I am is where we want to end up, perhaps we should move to a lone hospital somewhere else and attract attention there for a while instead? Of course, there are other places with a similar configuration like [375,7/6]. Maybe for our final position, we'll instead want to head towards a mall or would that be too much attention for us?

Guys, I went traveling by plane this morning. Unfortunately my character was caught off guard and sniped about 1.5 hours prior to internet access. Chester Skanksworthy died as he had lived: with guts up to his nuts with plenty of APs to spare.

A moment of silence.

And now may I introduce the top secret experimental Skanksworthy companion: Milton Skanksworthy.

Boink!

Free running has saved me several times since I can hop around/into heavily barricaded buildings. Unfortunately I did not know about the "fall into ruins" rule...so it's pretty much useless unless you have a few non-ruin buildings to hop around in. The binoculars are cool but it's hard to find good vantage points to make it strategically useful. The flare gun...pointless...I'm going to save it to flame a zombie...one of these days....

Interesting...we need to either find a bank, club, or cinema as a base and should use these to rest at night.

Dang you beat me to that link. I was just gonna post it.

Yes, banks, cinemas, clubs, and barns are the preferred sleeping areas. I put this stuff into my description:

My next hiding place will be Flucks Bank [368,53]. I am trying to save up AP to look for FAKs in the hospitals along my route, but I'm not sure how long to press my luck.

you do know that zombies can click on you to get your description as well right? (atleast I'm pretty sure they can if they have diagnostics or the other hp revealing skill).

I know that I once clicked on a zombie who "broke down the last barrier" and saw it was some lvl 46 zombie....so I bolted from the scene....

Was resting in a bar...then discovered by a lone zombie that started whittling me away so I ran up to find shelter. Currently at the Dearine Bar [348,48] (doors secured).

Flucks has a zombie in it. I don't relish trying to evict it with a 12.5% chance of hitting, so I'm moving on soon. Burnt all my AP on XP, though, so I'm up to 85. Since Chuck discovered the pitfalls of Free Running in ruined buildings, I've decided to upgrade my Hand-to-Hand first.

Also, I'm down to 38HP and more excited than ever by the "let's power a hospital and get a hundred FAKs" plan. After I move west two spaces Bad Luck Billy and Sterling Hop will be on the same screen looking at the wiki map. In Borisawicz Bar. Bars are dark, too? Didn't realize.
