I hereby challenge Alan and Vinny to solo combat, whatever card sets you care to specify, since they wussed out last time. I also challenge pretty much everyone to either a massive free-for-all or a big team battle, since I think these would be entertaining.
Team battles are always the most fun. They're usually pretty slow, so that gives you time to pull out some of the most powerful critters and spells. I usually play unified life pool with no card/deck/mana sharing, table talk allowed.
Free-for-alls sometimes suck because whoever starts to lose slightly gets picked on. With four or more, though, usually no one wants to tap their creatures and open themselves up to attack, so that is a counter balance.
More Magic the Gathering
I wasn't on the board last time you tried this, but I'd be willing to play this time. I need to see what kinds of goblins have been added in the hundred expansions that have come out since I quit. My decks were never very effective, but they did annoy the people I played against.
I feel like I just beat a kitten to death... with a bag of puppies.
Hmm, the new basic rules ceratinly make things simpler. I guess they cleaned up the basic mechanics in the three main editions since I last played. I haven't read a lot of the advanced rules, but I can look them up as needed.
MTGPlay's search option found me plenty of Type II Standard goblins. I'll throw together a deck and be ready to kick some ass. In general, I can play between 5:00 and 10:00PM, as long as I get some notice.
Vinny: The last game I played was against you, so you have no excuse.
