Installed last night (while playing poker). With luck, I'll start today. Will probably go home early after I initiate two ~8 hour builds...

I predict by the time vinny starts we will be able to party with him as say, a lvl 1 dragoon/summoner/pally/etc

Btw, I didn't notice a patch. Does that happen after I purchase a Content ID?

Just finish the entire process then you'll see. yes after you purchase a content ID. why would you spend ~3 hours downloading a patch if you don't even have an account to play on :P

I guess maybe it was launch day and everyone was downloading the patch at the same time. 3 hours does sound a bit ridiculous I suppose.

Welp, I wound up quitting; the XP scheme really killed it for me, and the weapons and armor were incredibly visually limited didn't help. Enjoyed playing with you guys, though! I might try it again in a month or two depending on how RL goes. Have fun~

Yeah hope to see you around again someday.

Then again I won't play much, if at all over Christmas break, and next semester will suck horribly for me.

Also, I thought I read somewhere that you could do magic bursts with Cure spells also? Anyone try yet?

Btw, was this ever confirmed?

The cure series is considered "light attack." So yes it can be used for magic bursts. This will of course only work on undead as healing enemies other than undead won't do anything (except giving you the msg that it has no effect). But then again, if you're a healer why would you waste mp on magic bursts that won't do much more than just healing the crap outta the thing without worrying about timing :) (well assuming the mob isn't IT and won't kill you after you heal it too much)

Ah, but I'm wondering if a cure would still burst if say, a whm healed a PT member with the right timing. For example, turn a measly cure into a one-person benediction 8)

Umm...I highly doubt that. MB is supposed to be a bonus attack for using the right element, not for curative purposes. I'm sure your target has to be the enemy not a PC, just like the WS are attacking the enemy not PCs.
