Wireless Bridge

Post by quantus »

So, if I were to get a wireless bridge like this one, could I just hook a switch up to it and it'd just work with the extra devices on the same subnet, or would I have to hook up another router to it on and have the extra devices on a different subnet? Has anyone tried this?

No, I've never bought a wireless bridge.

My understanding is that the devices on the bridge think they're just connected by ethernet to the router. So if you can daisy chain your switch off your router, then you should be able to do this.

Incidentally, why won't someone make this product with a built in switch?

That is exactly why I asked. It seemed silly not to just put an extra port or two into the thing since it would only cost like tree fiddy more in parts if that.
