Wee, my first interview invite in over a month. And my first interview at a location I'll have to fly to.

Who knows anything about St. Louis? All I know is that it has an arch and to not go to the north and east sides of the city.

Hmm, well I knew it had an arch, but you already got that.

One of the more attractive girls I knew in high school went to Washington, so six years ago, the lower bound on the number of hot chicks in the city was one. Presumably she graduated about the time we did, so there may no longer be any.

Also, I briefly visisted the south-western corner of the state (we took a wrong turn when I was in Arkansas), and I can say definately that there is nothing worth seeing there. Since there's nothing but farms (and probably meth labs) there, they didn't even bother to name or number the roads. They lettered them instead, so to get back to Arkansas we had to take county road EE, O, V, and W as I recall.

My next stop will be Stratford, NJ at UMDNJ-SOM which is New Jersey's Osteopathic school. That will be way out in April.

Stratford seems pretty close to Philly.

You know, I was having trouble remembering which state St Louis was in. I finally remembered Missouri, but that was only after I was mostly convinced it was Louisiana. (I actually won a geography bee in elementary school).

So, based on that assumption, I will tell you why the roads were lettered. It's because roads in Louisiana suck. Everybody knows this. Back when the state's drinking age was 18 in Louisiana, they didn't receive any federal highway funds, so their roads were all funded locally, which meant they were barely funded at all. That, and nobody there can read. And then they raised the drinking age to 21 like everybody else, so they got highway funds again. And I'm pretty sure the roads still suck.
