Troy & Van Helsing

Post by Dave »

ended up watching both of them, and despite the reviews van helsing is a fun action movie to watch once after you get overth horrible attempt at an accent (joe sucks) Troy was also pretty good. I smell emmy on Eric Bana depending on if he's submitted for leading or supporting.

that and 20 minutes into Troy there was a false fire alarm. that was fun

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

Can you convert the end of your comment on van helsing to english? Anyways, I saw van helsing also and didn't find it as bad as the review said it was. Yes, it was corny. There were a couple of scenes that would make most people jump, so it wasn't a complete failure at being scary. Other than that, lots of fun CG.

Oh yeah, I also saw Kill Bill, Vol.2 this weekend. There was much more backstory in this one so you actually understood what was going on. Also, there was significantly less blood in this one. I don't remember if anyone here saw the Shogo style blood bath at the end of the last one. Anyways, I don't particularly recommend this movie for casual viewing. If you're really really bored then maybe kill 2 hours.

Holy Shit, Tarantino wants to do a James Bond movie! Bond movies are not supposed to be blood baths.

I saw Envy over the weekend. It got slammed by critics and moviegoers alike, but I kind of liked it. The story was cliche and predictable, but if you like Christopher Walken whenever he's done SNL and/or Ben Stiller it's worth seeing I think.

So Troy was basically like this, right?

I only read part way through, but it was pretty accurate as far as I read. Having read that, the more serious the actors tried to sound, the more rediculous it got. Maybe I would've thought that way anyway without reading that, but there's no going back. Stupid pandora and her box!
