I should be happy with the Murky buff but even that is not enough to assuage what the stupid Americans did.

The Verge, I thought you were better than this.A veteran of the tech industry, Diangelo got his start as a Cobalt programmer in the 1970s.

Ewww. You know, that might actually be good for Diangelo, since you know, why would you want to be associated with having programmed in COBOL?Jonathan wrote:The Verge, I thought you were better than this.A veteran of the tech industry, Diangelo got his start as a Cobalt programmer in the 1970s.

Outsiders are so eager to turn the basin’s power into cryptocurrency that this winter, several would-be miners from Asia flew their private jet into the local airport, took a rental car to one of the local dams, and, according to a utility official, politely informed staff at the dam visitors center, “We want to see the dam master because we want to buy some electricity.”

Nevertheless, in 2016, Smith voted for Trump. He had been mostly indifferent to Trump’s anti-immigrant invective on the campaign trail; the rhetoric didn’t resonate with him personally, but it didn’t alienate him, either. “My kids were getting to an age where they’d be going to work, so the economy was the major issue for my family,” he told me. “It’s the things that affect us the most that we vote on. And immigration didn’t really affect me before. But then this raid happened.”

Maybe it's men buying it for their mistresses? In which case, the Handmaid's Tale costume is a bit too on the nose?Anyone who was truly surprised by a racy take on Handmaid’s Tale has clearly not been paying attention to the ever-expanding power of the sexy-Halloween-costume industrial complex. At this point, entire sites are devoted to churning out sensual versions of the uniforms of entirely mundane occupations, and it should go without saying that the sites wouldn’t exist unless someone was buying from them.
Clearly, I've been going to the wrong Halloween parties...the transformation of Halloween into an entirely consumerist holiday predicated on selling people costumes, alcohol, and candy.
Really? There can be no ethical Halloween under capitalism

I, for example, almost came unglued yesterday when my roommate turned the oven to 450 degrees to bake a single beet.

David Frum wrote:An ex-conservative friend of mine told me a story about a conversation she had with someone who remained much more active in the conservative movement.
