Just went to see The Last Samurai. Definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it already. I like war movies and I like movies about honor so I am biased. I'm pretty sure most of you will like it.

Cold Mountain is definately very good as well. If you've got a special someone (not Peijen anymore) go see it with her.

Let's see, what else have I seen...
Master and Commander - was good
Love Actually - was ok, really a chick flick
Gothica - pretty interesting. Same people who brought you The Ring
Kill Bill Vol. 1 - if you like anime or Battle Royale, you'll probably like this. I, however, was a bit disappointed. I guess I really needed to grow up on the genre of movies that Tarantino was mimicing.

I just went through the movies still earning money according to movies.yahoo.com. I know a lot of them are old, but I haven't had the time to see a lot of new movies.

Oh yeah, and of course you should see Pirates of the Caribbean, Matrix movies, and LotR movies.

I don't think we could take two hours of Jude Law's and Nicole Kidman's Southern accents.

You can still see it and ignore their accents, although they weren't too bad I think. Of course, I'm a northerner and don't really care what a southern accent should sound like. I suppose you could just read the book which is said to be a Civil War Odyssey. Hell, any movie that has a book out first, you're better served intellectually by reading the book anyway. Anyways, even if the whole of the movies isn't well constructed as put by Ebert, the pieces are nice individually.
