so what do you do with your free time

Post by Peijen »

well? I couldn't do much because my parents are still with me (it's probably just an excuse), but they will be gone in a month or 2. I am thinking about what I should do with my free time, because I don't want to end up like George ...

I guess I could try to get a girlfriend, my co-worker has agreed to help, but I am not sure I want to do that yet (I am a cheap bastard, cheap lonely bastard ...).

Watch Oz reruns, both of the -zy Osbourne and HBO varieties. "Butt sex owns you!" And your ass. Yeah.

Uh, play Stars!, Super Mario World, and Diplomacy, in roughly that order. I'm a bit stuck in Zelda. I need to read a walk through and figure out how you're supposed to defeat the wizard.

Work on my website.

Post obsessively.

Think up new great ideas for software, prototype them, and then lose interest. This is actually great fun. I should follow up on some of this. And make stuff more generally available.

Construct fantasy computers in my head, with the intention of actually doing so sometime later.

Emulate PS1 games. I need to pick up another title.

Ooo, find used book store, purchase excellent used book, read, repeat. That's a good one. I'm working my way through Terry Pratchett. I already did enough Larry Niven to suit me for a while. And there was the Gene Wolfe that I posted a review about earlier.

Go hiking, backpacking, camping. Amber and I have been doing some hiking. Just day trips to waterfalls and the like. Nothing wrong with that.

What about that robot stuff? Or is cheap bastard still in effect?

don't work seven days a week, but I also have grad classes and I'm still trying to clean and fix up my condo so I haven't had much free time.

You should've collected >1000 divx's and then you could watch 3 movies a day for a year. That should be a long enough of a time where you could repeat that ad infinitum. Heck, you could get rid of the suckiest half of the movies and repeat every 6 months. I bet you won't remember the movies too well after 6 months if you're watching that many of them.

By the way, Shaolin Soccer is a great movie. Why did sexual chocolate never advocate the use of Kung Fu in soccer? We would've completely rocked!!!

There was the slight problem of not knowing kung fu.

But we had Vinny. If only he could've been at least the tiniest bit like Steel Leg....

If you're really bored, you could always try train hopping. Though, of course, this is a highly dangerous activity (NSFW) and so I cannot recommend it. There is a book "Hopping Freight Trains in America" which you can read.
