Anti-virus software even worth it anyjmore?

Post by Dave »

My kaspersky 3-user is expiring in a few weeks and I realized, I only use 1 windows pc anymore. I've read ok things about MS SEssentials, and Avast! - anyone got 2 cents? I don't really want to deal with the hassle of FAR heh.

I recommend using the aforementioned Microsoft Security Essentials and not doing silly things (e.g. ooo, executable from the prince of nigeria, I better run this asap!).

I'm more worried about the wife going to shady sites from google searches! But her laptop hasn't died of late ... Yet

I did just order the malwarebytes thing from newegg for $10, even the free program seemed to have gotten rid of some stuff whatever antivirus couldn't pick up before.
