Code that does a fairly complex state machine, which I have modified, was copied & pasted into a different method in the same file. I did not notice.

It was written like four years ago by someone in Texas. There's politics to consider, and also what exactly the expected outcome is for me (ie not much, maybe slightly better perf models in the company).

Eh, and there's countless other places this person's probably done the same thing in the last 4 years... Damage to maintainability has already been done.

Annoying, sure, but you shouldn't have lost any work since it copies the file your working on to another file and always updates that copy as you type.

I have usually around 30 buffers in emacs at any given time. Finding all those files and reopening them is always a pain.
