Is there a simple/built-into-windows way to sort a gigantic folder of images with "tags" that allow people to sort them by non-filename values?
ie - 300 DSCXXX files, half of them I want to put a label of "dumb" the other half "stupid". Then later be able to search for all the "stupid" files.
ps - im a noob.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

Hopefully your '/' means "or".
Sounds like Google's
Picasa is right up your alley.

For the degenerate case you mentioned, you could just use folders.
The features you want are supposed to be in
WinFS (or
Reiser4). So, you know, not available for love or money.
