I know I asked this in the other thread, but I can't add a poll if I split the topic as far as I can tell. So, if you answered there, just answer again!

So yeah, as I said, I'm mostly using n now for my own laptops. Most people still seem to use b/g when the come over though...

I usually use A, but Peijen's got my A/B/G router. I didn't usually have it turned on, though. I only use my laptop in other rooms to watch DVDs.
I don't think I need N. A/G's gives a reasonable signal everywhere except part of my bedroom, and I could move the router if I cared.

Why did you choose to use an 802.11a network? It was pretty uncommon and relatively expensive. Heck, only now that I wanted an integrated n card did I get a bundle with it too. Still, I'll probably never use a since I don't know anyone local that has an a router.
It's interesting so far that no one seems to be using exclusively b anymore. I would think that for internet only applications that the performance would've been good enough to for at least one of you to not switch. About a year ago I would've probably been that one, but where I live now has a LOT of other access points in the area generating a ton of interference which the n network seems to have no trouble with. I guess g has pretty much taken over b's market and the routers have come down in price enough.
I probably should've added to the poll whether people using g are using regular basic g or g with mimo or g with one of the speed enhancers.

I got my A/B/G card and router for $10 each after rebates. I chose A because noone else did, hopefully making my network marginally more secure and less prone to interference. I don't care about using anyone else's router, and I don't care about anyone else using mine.

Just setup a G for my parents. Apparnetly there are 8 other networks in the neighborhood within range, one of which my DS can play some mario kart off of... but none of which have as awesome name as ours.
